With this wall painting-installation I depict the metaphysical fence of the nationalistic
sentiment bounding people into societies. This fence becomes the boundary in which these people
get encircled, enclosed.
Examining the painted stripes stretching throughout the whole room the viewer moves
his/her head upward following the stripes painted on the ceiling. In a blink of
a moment, a sense of disorientation is created caused by an awareness that the viewer
is stepping on painted stripes on floor while at the same time tries to focus on
a painted stripes on the ceiling. It is this condition of disorientation that I use to
describe the experience of a real disorientation of people living in within artificially
created, "ideology, a sentiment, a form of culture, or a social movement that focuses on
the nation," ignoring the outcomes of such acts.
