These drawings were executed in Berlin during July of 2008. Whole experience of being in Berlin is of somewhat surrealistic nature. In last few years my drawings have been mainly utilized as a type of a social commentary. In the US it is not so difficult to find sources or inspiration due to the nature of the existing system. But in Berlin it was quite an interesting experience. When I read, watched TV or listened the radio, somehow the inspiration was of a different nature. The outlandishness of the extremism is not of such an obvious appearance as it is in the US.

       I felt that Berlin is creating a different influence upon me. I realized, my art would be of a quite different nature, more subtle, than it is here in the US. My attention was not disturbed by violence, poverty, and war mongering. It took me some time, two weeks of so to recalibrate myself. Unfortunately, soon after I was back to the US, the same story continued, for violence, extremism, fear and war mongering was knocking back on my door of everyday life.
